Membership

Not a member but thinking of joining usPlease come and visit!

Draw and paint with us during one of our open studio sessions and meet the people who frequent the Guild; or, try one of our workshops when they are available.

Members join for the collective experience of practicing and improving our skills. In addition, camaraderie and the pride of belonging ensures that the organization continues to exist and grow. This is a space where master artists work and teach. Our current artist-in-residence is renowned portrait artist Jon Houghton.

Membership costs $160 annually starting in March. You must attend three sessions prior to starting the membership process.

Consider the following member benefits:
  • Low Rates for Live Model Open Studio Sessions – where we practice our passion for art in a supportive, collaborative atmosphere. Our member artists share tips and techniques via example and upon request. We welcome artists of all abilities.
  • Use of Studio Space  Members are welcome to spend time at the Guild to practice their art. A pleasant North light reaches several available open tables, which you may use provided you leave the area clean and cleared for your next fellow artist. Use one of our easels and the drying rack; each artist is assigned a cubby for supplies. Certain spaces may be reserved for open studios and workshops, but the rest of the time, the Guild can be your place to create. Note: the Guild is not a storage area for your art - please take your work home!
  • Priority enrollment and lower rates for Workshops  conducted by nationally known artists as well as local artists at the Guild.
  • Conduct a Workshop at the Guild  Guild member instructors keep 80% of paid attendance.
  • Open Collaborations  – These are monthly forums where the first part is dedicated to introducing a technique, and the second part to sharing work for feedback/critique. You may bring one or two pieces (as time allows) in progress or finished.
  • Entry to the Guild Shows – On occasion, we share our work as a formal show.
  • Schedule a meeting with another member for mentorship.
